Family Business Story Summary
Frey’s Hatchery
Aden Frey shared the story about a long time family business in Waterloo Region. In fact, this year they are celebrating 70 years of service to the Region and beyond.
What was clearly evident in Aden’s presentation was the great passion that his family had and has for their family business. As all of you know, a great deal of hard work goes into making a family business so successful. They sell their products across Ontario as well into the U.S. and beyond. Not only do they sell chicken and more mature chickens, they also sell ducks, partridges and others.
As the economy down-turned in 2008, Frey’s met this challenge by developing new markets and by modernizing their plant operations. Today, four Frey grandsons work in the organization. What a great story and legacy for our community!
