Josslin Insurance partners with Centre for Family Business for a locally grown student bursary

Supporting the succession from one generation to the next is a key part of the work the
Centre for Family Business (CFFB) provides for its members.
Now, Legacy Sponsor Josslin Insurance, a Wagler Family business, is joining with the
Centre to secure a solid foundation for the next young person looking to add their name to
southern Ontario’s rich family business history.
Steve Wagler, Partner and Director of Insurance at Josslin sees this as a way to give
back, and to build forward.
“As second-generation family business leaders, and members of the CFFB for the past
27 years, my brother Scott and I have learned the importance of developing leaders.
Whether that is cultivating professionals in our own business…or a non-profit
organization like the CFFB.… or our political and educational institutions, good
leadership is as important today as it was when this Region was first developing.”
“We need to ensure our best and brightest plant or continue to grow their roots right here!”
To support this, Josslin is offering a $2,500 bursary to a student making a difference in their
community. The award is open to students in all disciplines, from University to College and
trade schools.
“Great business leaders come from all walks of life” says CFFB Executive Director Brian
Bourke. “Our region is built on a huge spectrum of businesses from agriculture, to
manufacturing to financial services. We encourage all students to explore this
opportunity.”
Interested students in Grade 12 or first year post secondary and trade schools in Waterloo,
Wellington and Perth Regions, and who have ties to a family business, are eligible for the
award. The deadline for applications is May 8, 2024 – Application Form. The winner
will be honoured at the CFFB Gala Event on May 30,2024 For more information, contact the
