CFFB November Meeting – Learning to Run the China Shop with the Bull Still In It
November 25, 2022 @ 7:30 am - 10:00 am
Join us on Friday, November 25 from 7:30am – 10:00am for an in-person meeting with keynote speaker Paul Attia.
Learning to Run the China Shop with the Bull Still In It
Paul Attia
Bingemans
Working as a litigator for nearly 15 years has provided Paul ringside seats to the results of poor decision making. In the courtroom, Paul saw the process often as a person at the bottom of a cliff, catching those who have already jumped. Your greatest asset and your greatest liability can often be the same thing. For most family businesses, the intersection of family, business and relationships is where conflicts arise.
Drawing on Paul’s work with family businesses from across Canada and the US, as well as his own experience in his family business, Paul will provide perspective, principles and practical tools to Run the China Shop with the Bull Still In It!
This presentation will help family members identify, manage, and ultimately, optimize their family business dynamics as they relate to communication and decision making.
About Paul Attia, LLB, FEA
After practicing law as a Bay Street Litigator in Toronto and then a Criminal Prosecutor in Ottawa, Paul left law to run his own family’s business, when it needed his assistance. Paul’s experience both professionally and personally, places him at the critical nexus of overlapping spheres: the professional pedigree to identify and understand family enterprise issues and the personal experience to skillfully and sensitively help family members navigate them. His experience both in law and in family business enables him to understand the critical importance of fair dealings at both the negotiation table and the family table.
Two meals are complimentary per Family Business Member and one meal per Advisor. Additional meals can be purchased and will be invoiced by CFFB.
